The things people ask us.
Planning & booking
Tell us about your day through Find my match or our enquiry form, and we’ll recommend the boats that suit it best. Once you’ve chosen, we confirm availability and send your quote, and a 50% deposit secures the boat. Closer to the day, we’ll confirm final guest numbers and any food and drink details with you.
No. There’s no charge to have us guide your booking, and no markup added. Your quote is for the charter itself. You’re simply looked after by people who know Sydney Harbour and its boats.
Every charter is quoted for your day. The boat, the group, the date and the hours all shape it. Most boats have a minimum of 3 or 4 hours, and all our prices include GST. Your quote shows every cost upfront, with no hidden fees.
Every charter includes the boat for your booked hours and a professional captain and crew. Food and drinks, wait staff and extras depend on the boat, and each boat page shows exactly what applies.
A catamaran has two hulls side by side, so it’s wide, flat and very stable. A motor yacht has one hull and the sleek look most people picture.
- Catamaran: stable, spacious and easy to move around. Great for families and older guests, and often great value.
- Motor yacht: sleek and polished, often with a sundeck. Ideal for celebrations, corporate events and photos.
Not sure? Tell us about your group and we’ll recommend the right one.
Absolutely, that’s what we do. Use Find my match and you’ll usually have your best 2–3 boats within 20 minutes, or call us on 0468 648 601 and we’ll talk it through.
The best boats go early for peak season (spring and summer weekends, and the Christmas to New Year run). If your date is fixed, earlier is always better, but tell us regardless. We often know where the gaps are.
Most charters run as an afternoon cruise, usually starting around midday or 1pm, or an evening cruise from around 5:30pm into sunset. Most boats have a minimum of 3 or 4 hours. We’ll help you choose the time that suits your day and confirm it with the boat.
If you’d like to, yes. Most clients book from our recommendation and photos, and a viewing can be arranged when it helps you feel sure.

Food, drinks & music
Many boats welcome BYO, usually for a small fee of around $10 to $25 per person or a flat amenities fee. Easy, boat-friendly food works best, such as platters and canapés, and some boats have a BBQ on board. Most BYO boats provide plates, cups and cutlery, and we’ll confirm what yours includes.
Yes. Some boats have their own catering or chefs on board, and for others we can recommend trusted caterers to design a menu for your day.
It depends on the boat. Options usually include:
- BYO: bring your own drinks, usually for a small fee
- Drinks package: all drinks included for the length of your charter
- Bar tab or consumption bar: guests drink from the licensed bar, settled by tab or invoice
- Cash bar: guests buy their own drinks on board
Bar staff fees may apply on some boats. We’ll walk you through the options for yours.
Most boats have eskies or fridges to keep drinks cold. Ice isn’t always included, so you can bring your own or we can arrange it. We’ll confirm what your boat provides.
Some boats require wait staff for larger groups, usually one per 10 to 15 guests. Where it applies, we show it upfront on the boat page and in your quote, so there are no surprises.
Yes. Most boats have a sound system you can connect your own playlist to, and many can host a DJ, which we can arrange for you.
On the day
Most charters board from a wharf around the harbour, and many boats can pick you up from a wharf close to you. We’ll suggest the best wharf for your group and confirm the details before the day. Some wharves charge a small fee. Popular choices include King Street Wharf, Crown Public Pontoon at Barangaroo, The Star (Casino Wharf), Pirrama Park and Campbells Cove. See the full list, with maps, on our wharves page.
A hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a jumper or jacket for the evening breeze. Planning a swim? Bring swimwear and a towel. Most boats ask for bare feet or soft, flat shoes on board, so it’s best to leave high heels at home.
Light rain doesn’t stop a charter. Most boats have covered and indoor areas, so the day still goes ahead, and rain on its own isn’t a reason to cancel or reschedule. A new date or a refund is only considered when the weather makes it unsafe to go out, and the captain makes that call. Each boat has its own weather policy, so we’ll confirm the exact terms for your boat before you book.
